*Tuxedo*

Here is my latest project. I call it the Tuxedo (for my S&W M&P that is)

A little Krylon FUSION paint (bonds on a molecular level with plastics - Polymer) and VOILA! (Dad would be so proud...)
I have used KRYLON FUSION paint before on the fender flares of the Jeep, people asked me if I Armor-all'ed them everyday - NOPE - Just a high quality paint job from a can (good job Sherwin Williams...wink wink, nudge nudge, off you go....).

I also made a "custom" backstrap for the wife... She likes blue and would like the Julie Goloski Breast Cancer Awareness 9mm M&P (but that's not going to happen) so I took the size she likes and "customized" it for her.

Mine is a satin tan color and hers is (obviously) blue. These things cost like $2 to replace so I figured "what the heck"...

I know this happened when it was still warm out, but here is a video of one of the boys riding his bike without training wheels (he was three at the time)....

Hopefully it won't be another year before I post again...

V-takes, bouncing and overdubbing - OH MY!!!!

So a guy at church let me borrow this recording station that he hasn't had much time to learn... And now I can understand why! This thing is a Zoom MRS-1266 and it is VERY well apportioned! I have been through the manual a few times now, and continue to go back to it for more info or for clarification... The guys that I have talked to say that they no longer make this unit partly because it had too many features for the novices, yet just not enough (channel wise etc.) for the pros. Anyway, I am enjoying myself! So far I have only laid down some scratch tracks and things, just trying to get a feel for the capabilities of the unit, but in a little bit I will try to lay down actual stuff that I can put on a CD. One of the main problems I am haing is that I don't have a whole lot of stuff, like headphones or effects units or EQ's and stuff like that, so right now the quality (usually with a kid or two talking in the background) is only so-so. Also, I had to run the main out of the unit to my guitar amp aux in, as the home theater surround sound I have hooked up to the computer has this annoying half second delay, thus making it impossible to play and record with any accuracy.

Any way, just a new post since it's been a while... I am trying to spend more time on the recorder than on the computer... breaking old habits with new ones..... This should be fun. Big Red would be proud. So far I have laid down six tracks of guitar, bounced all that down to two tracks and laid down three vocal tracks (with harmonies....) the unit has a great rythm section with any drum kit and/or beat you can imagine! You can also create your own beats and rythm songs with the drum pads (something else I had problem doing with that pesky half second delay...) So far I have almost looked at the recorder as much as I have looked at the manual for the recorder.... But I am making headway...

Check out the "old product" info ton the ZOOM page for more info: http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/mrs1266/

I'm sure BigRed will.....

On another note I spoke with Chris Horner the other day! He says he is doing well, and is enjoying married life. I told him we needed to get together next time I'm off... Which will be a week from now....... anywho..... Haven't talked to him in a while....

repeal the death penalty?????

Here in MD legislation is being introduced to permanently abolish the death penalty. Why?

If used correctly this could be a very good deterant for criminals however its use has been declining since the 1950's. Let's take a look at the numbers: Executions per year:

1926 - 2
1927 - 4
1928 - 3
1932 - 3
1935 - 4
1936 - 2
1938 - 2
1940 - 6
1941 - 5
1942 - 5
1943 - 6
1944 - 4
1945 - 4
1946 - 5
1947 - 4
1948 - 4
1949 - 3

There were others in the years in between, but usually only one per year in those years. In 1961 there was ONE execution and then there is a HUGE GAP untill 1994 when ONE more execution was performed. There was one execution also in each 1997 and 1998.

How can something be deemed inaffective when its only disfunction is non-use? Look at the population differences from present day and compare them to the 1920's 1930's and 1940's!!! Shouldn't the number of executions have gone UP significantly seeing as how we have WAY more people in our state now than we did then?

Sure, innocent people go to prison. Sure, we need an appeals process, which we have already, in place. But how many times should someone fail to prove their innocence before you just say 'alright then, enough tax-paying dollars spent to feed and house you. you're not innocent after your second or third appeal so it's time for you to actually pay for the crime in which you continue to be guilty of committing.'?????

This kinder/gentler thought process has spread to those in law enforcement as dicussed in my last blog entry. WHY???? Where is this state going to find the money to keep creating new prisons to house the influx of criminals growing up in or relocating to this area? Why should the taxpayers be burdened with putting up convicted murderers in life-long hotels feeding them well, giving them a relaxing responsibility free stay for life? Studies are now showing that those in the prison system are living longer than the rest of our population because they have NO STRESS, and NO RESPONSIBILTIES!!!! Of course they live longer! No bills to pay, no medical care to worry about, no groceries to buy, no job to attend everyday, recreation FOUR times a day, candy and ice cream on holidays, visits with family and friends FOUR TIMES A WEEK and ZERO responsibilty for your actions past present or future....

1955 - the last hanging in the state. Too cruel

1961 - although still pretty new this is the LAST execution by gas chamber in the state. (Gas chamber is the white Protrusion on the wall with the windows in it on the far wall in the picture above..)

1994 - new change to lethal injection. This would take care of John Thanos in 1994 - remember him? nice guy....

I have been in the room where the gas chamber sits.(see picture above) I have seen the table Thanos comfortably lay on for his lethal injection. Lethal injection generally takes SEVEN minutes. The worst pain the offender feels is the first stick of the first needle. After that they don't feel anything. Ever gotten a needle? Who hasn't? Not that much of an inconvenience, getting a needle.... How about the victims? Their families? Think that pain went away as fast as a needle stick? Certainly not.

It's time to start treating violent criminals like the people that they are. Or aren't....

I believe it's time to start using the death penalty the way it was intended. Special exeptions have been made to protect the mentally retarded etc. etc. The only way to allow it to deter is to USE IT. We should be executing MANY MANY people per year for the things they have done. If you cannot be found to be innocent after two appeals, then you are guilty. We have things like DNA evidence now, and some of the best forensics available. In this day and age if you are guilty, YOU ARE GUILTY!!!!! Some people will say that life in prison is punishment enough, or even cruel and unusual punishment, but it's not. If the judge/jury says death, lets hold them to that. Not every Tom Dick and Harry who murders someone even faces the CHANCE of the death penalty. Only those heinous crimes meet the criteria for this. Why is that so hard to understand??

Anyway, ask for a blog entry and you shall receive.... Gotta go!

In Re: bigredwolske@blogspot.com : Did he really just say that...

This is exactly what the country is coming to. Liberals... Don't defend your life, save the offenders instead.... Don't demand compliance from someone who has/is and continues to break the law... Amazing.

We go through the same sort of thing in the prison system. Don't be too intimidating. Don't make too strong a show of force (even when necessary) because you might scare the inmate population (who raped/murdered/pilaged/terrorized/ burglarized their way INTO prison). Don't hurt anyone, even though they just hurt someone else (demonstrating the means, ability, opportunity, willingness to do so again, to you) be gentle.

Recently an officer was praised for not responding with mace or force after being punched in the face by an inmate. Our own mayjor said he did the right thing. HOW??? Next time there will be or could be a weapon involved, and someone could really be hurt, but why wait? Why give out this kind of opportunity?

Why is the public so open to the kinder/gentler? These people are not getting any kinder OR gentler. They continue to rape/kill/burglarize/terrorize in ever worsening ways. I wonder why that is. Perhaps if consequences, such as the possibility of death, or personal harm, were the norm people MIGHT just think twice. Instead lets give give give until the everyday citizen can't even walk the streets, or becomes violent and unruly because there is NO deterant.

On that note... How 'bout Tigger "slapping" that kid at Disney in 2004? (Hot in the news right now..) I've seen the video. Tigger REACTS to something. We may never know what, but he reacts to this kid DOING something to his back, and as a reflex (although I didn't know Tigger was a Navy SEAL) attempts to stop/disuade this action from occurring, and in the process his large, fluffy, soft paw grazes the kids face. Good for you Tigger! But they SUE? How is that even possible? Crazy....

Who's that robed man?

Check this out. Something I never thought even I would see. It's me. In a choir robe... I wore one for the christmas musical at Faith Community. huh. Still look pretty good though...
I had four days to learn this duet with the choir leader... we had only run over it once together when she asked me to do it, and then we did it for the cantata.... It was fun though!
