Can't we all just get along?

Immigration Shmimmigration. I am going to stop worrying over the whole thing. I mean, it is in the hands of the US GOVERNMENT. Who better to tell what's good, and what's not, for me and my family!

We don't need graphic representations of our education here, and did I read the word hyperbole? Different is different. Agree to disagree. What one doesn't see, one doesn't know, and vice versa.

"come on people now. Smile on yer brother. Everybody get together. Try to love one another riiiiigggghhhttt noooowww." One more time then into cum-by-a.........

Well, I would hope that YOU would know what is best for yourself and your family.

Also, what's with the rainbow flag?

Matt,

I agree...everyone is going to have their opinion on this topic. I have an opinion too, but am willing to say that I don't know enough about the entire situation to feel comfortable sharing my thoughts. I enjoy a good debate as much as the next guy, but in this setting it is often very difficult to interpret how someone meant something to be said.

And my question is the same as K's...rainbow peace flag??? Is there something you are trying to tell us? :)

"What one doesn't see, one doesn't know."

That's why, despite my better judgement, I've been compelled to throw my 2 cents in. Statements like that.

I hope you're not serious - "that the US Government knows best for you and your family".

My goal in all of these posts has not been to elevate myself, to make an example of my education, or whatever. I understand how thats how it might read, and I know that 'sounding arrogant' is something I need to beware of.

What I have seen is opinions based on (what looks like) a lot of anger, and I've been trying to get down to the reasons you have formed these opinions. I think many of your fears are unfounded, and I'm trying to explain why. When I hear "different is different", I hear that you're just content to be angry, for misdirected reasons. And that just doesn't make sense to me. (I get similarly upset when I see people are blindly content, when they ought to be outraged - like with the potential of losing basic freedoms, etc.)

So, I'm smiling on you, brother. I just don't see anybody (sincerely) smiling back.

For the record "what you don't see you don't know and vice versa" is a very true statement. The fact that one might percieve it to be for one side, and against the other shows a closed-minded attitude. In fact the statement was ment to be read "you don't see what I see, or know what I know, and I don't see what you see, or know what you know. " It goes both ways, peacefully, contentidly smiling....Honestly smiling. and no, the rainbow flag was just available, thanks for the concern.
