Photovaltaic power....

I have been reading a little on 'Photovaltaic' or PV power. That's Solar power to the rest of us.... These systems are available as tie-in's to the power you are already paying too much for, and without batteries, or as off the grid stand-alone systems. I think it would be great to generate my own power, and sell what's left back to the utility company.... Unfortunately these systems also cost money. Hmmmm. The 'cheaper' system (tie-in, no batteries, no backup power) start around $5000.00 and the complete sell the extra back to the poer company jobby goes anywhere from $7000.00 to $16,000.00. Still my attention is grabbed. Would the return be enough? I don't have extra cash to throw away. There are incentives.... The state of MD will give a one time 12% income tax rebate on a new system installation (up to $2000.00), the power company has to 'buy' excess power at the going rate, and the quiet efficient amlmost maintenance free system would immediately start reducing, if not demolishing, the power bill. I wonder if the government gives grants for these types of things???? The back of my house sits in sunlight ALL DAY LONG. I know I could genereate LOTS of power from that. I have visited several sites, however I didn't copy their addresses down to creat links.... I don't know. Just a thought. I wonder if there is anyone locally selling/installing/maintaning these things? If not, why not me? Rising electric costs should drive lots of people to look into solar power...... BRILLIANT!!!!!

Also, ethanol production begins in my back-yard. Yield too small to sell yet...........

Effective, really....

Wow. Barely survived the 'day without immigrants' . When do we schedule the 'month without immigrants'? Or perhaps the 'years and years........' hurt me please.
